A: It is generally accepted (and often published) that Deborah Harry was born in Miami. In "Making Tracks," Debbie says that she "doesn't know exactly where she came from," but she was "adopted through an agency in Miami, FL" when she was three months old. Because this statement can be taken as Debbie not knowing her cultural heritage, or alternately, as Debbie not knowing if was born in the city where she was adopted, either answer qualified as correct for purposes of this contest.

QUESTION: When Debbie moved back into NYC from NJ in the early '70's, she lived in an apartment on Thompson Street. At that time she had three gray cats, which, to her, represented the trinity of the heart, the soul, and the conscience. One of those cats was named "Sunday Man," later to be an influence in the title of a song called 'Sunday Girl.' What were the names of the other two gray cats, and which part of the 'trinity' did each of the three cats represent?
A: Page 13 (old edition) [p. 14 (reprint)] of Making Tracks specifically refers to the "trinity" when mentioning the three cats. Gray Girl was the conscience, Daniel was the leader, and Sunday Man was the soul of the group. It has also been noted that pg. 40 (or 44) pictures three gray cats and names them Gregor, Sunday Man, and Daniel. According to Chris Stein, Gregor was a nickname he gave to Grey Girl, so either answer is acceptable.

The original cover for this album was shot at the Tropicana - Debbie was wearing a pillowcase with red tape striped around it, and the boys had on leather.  Chrysalis records thought the photo too "punkish," so the group had to re-shoot in New York. *1) Name the album.  This album also features a song written by Debbie that expresses her feelings about the loss of her car and her general predicament at the time.  *2) Name the song.  *3) Name the model of this car.

(Statement made by Debbie on p. 145 of either edition of "Making Tracks" - under the section entitled 'From Eat to the Beat to Autoamerican'.  New York, New York was apparently a popular club in New York.  This statement contradicts popular belief that the video was shot at NY club, Studio 54.)
